Frequently Asked Questions
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and the camp location. Most participants from the EU and Schengen countries do not need a visa to enter Austria or Switzerland for short stays. If you’re coming from outside the EU, we recommend contacting your local Austrian or Swiss consulate to check visa eligibility for tourism purposes. A letter of invitation will be sent with the details of the visit and stay.
While PTI provides basic accident insurance during camp activities, we strongly recommend that families arrange private travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost baggage, and personal liability. This ensures full protection in case of unexpected travel or health issues.
Kids may arrive by plane or be driven directly to the camp. For the Austrian camp, we recommend flying into Graz (GRZ) or Vienna (VIE). For Switzerland, arrivals should be at Geneva (GVA) or Zurich (ZRH). PTI offers supervised airport transfer services from these airports at an additional cost. Parents who drive their children will receive detailed arrival instructions in the Pre-Camp Information Pack.
Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card; payment instructions are provided during registration. There are no refunds, except in cases of medical reasons, and with specific reasons. More information is detailed in the Parental Agreement. For special arrangements or multi-instalment payments, please contact us directly.
Refunds are only granted in severe medical conditions, supported by official documentation. No refunds apply for late arrivals, early departures, or missed sessions. If PTI cancels a session (outside of force majeure), a full tuition refund is issued, but PTI is not liable for any travel costs.
Camp days are structured into three main blocks:
Morning: 08:00 – 12:00
Afternoon: 14:00 – 18:00
Evening: 19:00 – 22:00
Each day includes a mix of tennis training, outdoor activities, fitness sessions, off-site excursions, mindfulness classes, and themed social events. Evening highlights include campfires, talent shows, and discos.
PTI camps are led by a team of highly experienced international staff. Our coaches and counsellors come from Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, and Spain; all are fully qualified professionals in their respective areas. The average staff member is around 30 years old, ensuring maturity and competence. The staff-to-camper ratio is approximately 1:8.
Kids stay in modern, comfortable double rooms (not bunk beds), separated by gender. Each room includes personal storage, a private bathroom, and large windows for natural ventilation. Roommates are typically paired by age range (±1 year). Private rooms are available on request, subject to availability and an extra charge.
Meals are served buffet-style three times per day, with healthy snacks provided throughout. We accommodate various dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and religious restrictions. Parents must inform us of any allergies or dietary preferences during registration. There are no vending or soda machines at the camps, promoting healthy nutrition.
Yes. We welcome children of all faiths and backgrounds. A quiet room is available for prayer, meditation, or personal reflection. We accommodate religious meal times, modest clothing preferences, Sabbath observance, and fasting periods. Please notify us of any religious needs during registration so we can plan accordingly.
On-site registered nurses provide primary care. Staff are trained in handling asthma, diabetes, ADHD, and severe allergies (including Epi-Pen use). Emergency care is coordinated with local hospitals in Austria or Switzerland. All health protocols, including hygiene, first aid, and tick prevention, are followed rigorously.
From day one, campers engage in structured icebreaker activities to build friendships and ease into the program. Homesickness is natural and often resolves within the first 48 hours. Our experienced staff provide emotional support and ensures every camper feels safe and seen. The Camp Director may contact parents in exceptional cases to discuss additional support strategies.
We maintain daily communication with parents via a one-way WhatsApp Channel. This includes:
Daily activity highlights
Photo and video updates
Important announcements
Before camp, parents receive a link and QR code to join the channel. In case of emergencies, you’ll have direct contact details for the Camp Director and the admin team.
Phones are collected and securely stored daily to encourage engagement, connection, and independence. Kids can access their phones for one hour daily, during a designated time slot. This allows them to contact parents and friends while staying focused during structured activities.
Yes. While we encourage families to limit visits during sessions, parents who are nearby and would like to visit are welcome. All visits must be arranged in advance to avoid interfering with camp activities. Families interested in touring the facilities can contact the Camp Director to book a suitable time.
Yes. PTI offers a 5% sibling discount for families registering more than one kid in the same season. Currently, we do not offer early booking or volume discounts.
Our programs combine elite tennis training, outdoor adventure, wellness, and multicultural experiences in premium locations. We focus on holistic physical, emotional, and social development and create a space where kids build skills, confidence, and lifelong memories. Small group sizes allow us to tailor the experience to each child.
Our camp welcomes participants of all levels: from beginners to advanced players. Each camper undergoes an assessment at the beginning of the session and is assigned to appropriate training groups. Our coaching staff customises instruction to ensure that every player receives guidance, challenges, and encouragement that are suitable for their age and skill level throughout the programme.
Yes, our camps are fully co-ed. Boys and girls participate together in all training sessions, sports activities, excursions, and social events. However, accommodations are separated by gender to ensure privacy and comfort during rest periods.
We strongly encourage campers to attend the full session to benefit from the complete programme structure. Partial attendance is not recommended and does not lower the tuition fee. In exceptional cases, such as travel constraints or medical issues, arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis if previously agreed upon with PTI.
No. Kids must remain on camp premises throughout the duration of their session. All off-site activities are planned and supervised by PTI staff. Kids are not permitted to leave camp independently for safety and accountability reasons.
We recommend labelling all clothing and personal belongings to help avoid loss or mix-ups. While PTI staff assist kids in keeping their areas organised, we cannot be held responsible for lost or misplaced personal items. Kids are encouraged to bring only essential items and to avoid packing valuables.
Yes. We provide weekly laundry service at both the Austria and Switzerland locations. This includes washing and drying campers’ clothing. We recommend packing enough clothing for a whole week, with some extra in case of weather or activity-specific needs.
The primary language of communication at camp is English. However, many of our staff are multilingual and can assist in French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese when needed. This international environment helps kids feel comfortable while also encouraging them to build confidence using English.
The Pre-Camp Information Pack will include a detailed packing list. Essentials include comfortable sportswear, tennis shoes, swimwear, casual clothes, toiletries, a reusable water bottle, and any medications (with instructions).
Kids are grouped based on age and skill level to ensure developmentally appropriate training and social engagement. Tennis instruction groups, particularly, are adjusted throughout the week depending on progress and performance.
Currently, PTI does not offer formal scholarships or financial aid. However, we are always open to discussing individual circumstances. Please reach out to our team if you’d like to explore special arrangements or funding support opportunities in partnership with schools or local organisations.
