A Study by Copenhagen City Heart Study
Why Tennis Could Be the Healthiest Choice You Make
Did you know that playing tennis may add nearly a decade to your life? A long-term study by the Copenhagen City Heart team, published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, followed over 8,500 participants for 25 years and found that tennis players lived, on average, 9.7 years longer than those with sedentary lifestyles.
More than just movement, tennis encourages social interaction, focus, and joy, all of which contribute to long-term well-being. At PTI, we see this not only as inspiring science but as a call to action.
By introducing young people to tennis early, we help them build habits that support both physical and mental health, while also creating space for connection and personal growth. Tennis isn’t just a sport to play today; it’s a companion for life.

Kids Tennis
PTI Kids U12 follow a kids’ tennis program that allows them to learn the game of tennis with smaller courts, nets, rackets, and slower balls. This adapted approach enables players to develop essential skills and techniques that are game-oriented, age-appropriate, and child-friendly.
PTI offers the following term programs as group lessons. All classes are adapted to the child’s ability and growth. Every child is unique and their development depends on their individual progress; therefore, the group classes below might be adapted and the age range could vary.
Junior Tennis
After completing the Kids Tennis Program, players will transition to the normal yellow ball. Newcomers aged 12 and above may start with the green ball (25% slower) and advance to the regular tennis ball when they are ready.
We offer a recreational and developmental pathway depending on the individual goals of our junior players.

Adult Tennis
Our adult tennis courses combine expert coaching, dynamic drills, and match-play to improve technique, fitness, and on-court confidence for all levels. Small groups ensure personalised attention while varied sessions (skills, tactics, conditioning) keep training effective and fun, which is perfect for players aiming to progress, meet fellow enthusiasts, or compete.
Health & Fitness
Our health & fitness community will encourage you to stay committed, and we push each other to take care of our bodies & minds. Exercise not only strengthens your body, but it also changes your mind, your attitude, and your mood.
An active lifestyle is what we advocate for to enhance our overall physical and mental well-being.

PTI Tennis Curriculum
Our program is designed to evolve with students, matching each phase to their age and development stage. Every year builds on the last, with fun, progression, and personal growth at its core. Kids will play from Phase 1 to Phase 3 in Leysin, and then the program will be adjusted to Phase 4 for those who study in Sépey.
International Programs
At PTI, tennis becomes part of the school week in a way that feels purposeful and exciting. Through our collaboration with Leysin American School and Kumon School, students train regularly with experienced coaches who understand how to support both athletic progress and personal growth.
Whether it’s building confidence through consistent practice or learning to lead within a team, these sessions offer more than physical activity. They create space for focus, motivation, and self-discovery to grow alongside academic life. It’s a rhythm that strengthens not just the body, but the way young people connect, communicate, and carry themselves through challenges.
LAS
LAS offers a competitive tennis team that trains twice a week and competes in several tournaments throughout the year. In addition, a recreational tennis class is offered once a week for those who want to achieve higher levels.
KLAS
KLAS offers a tennis club for their students as well as weekly tennis activities during the autumn and spring semester. PTI’s coaching team is delighted to work with students from all over the world and help the students improve their tennis skills.
